Balloons and Pompoms Al Fresco Tablescape
July 24, 2018
I love Al Fresco dining do you? Dining outdoors feels like party time. But when a sundrenched Texas Summer decides to roll in, dining outdoors becomes challenging. However where there is a good challenge, there is also creativity, so come on in and let me share with you how I decided to beat the Summer heat with fun colors, handmade flowers, pompoms and balloons.
Thank you for joining me today and 19 other creators as they share their imaginations, décor and creativity with you too. You will find all of their links to their Alfresco Tablescapes at the end of my post.
Please come on in!
Let's leave the French Doors open this morning as their is just a slight breeze and I hear the birds chirping, do you?
Truthfully my flowers are wilted, the blooms are faded and the water bill is rising, so the homegrown floral centerpiece is no more.
So let's party with some economical handmade table accessories and centerpieces!
Today I am using my turquoise three tiered stand along with a variety of pink and turquoise hued handmade pompoms as part of this tablescape centerpiece. Then I added some white balloons attached to variegated paper straws and placed them inside petite turquoise milk bottles.
Balloons are such a fun and easy way to add color, texture, height and interest to any tablescape.
I found these precious, pink and petite ceramic basket at Micheals for 60% off-they seem so perfect to use as baskets of blueberries for breakfast.
Plastic blue and pink Margarita glasses are perfect vessels for Breakfast parfaits.
Handmade crepe flowers are so easy to make and add such a sweet touch to any tablescape. To make these petite and sweet little flowers I simply used a roll of white crepe paper and used a felted blue ball for the center.
Thanks so much for joining us all and may all you have a Sunny vibes sort of day and week!

Homemaking|Summer,
Such unexpected fun Jemma! So clever to do your table by the doors to get the outdoor feeling! It is brutally hot in Alabama, I feel for you Texas gals! Your color palette of pinks and blues, is refreshing and cooling, and the yogurt parfait sounds delicious! Keep cool!
ReplyDeleteOh this looks like so much fun Gemma! I love how you added the balloons to your tablescape as well as the handmade pom poms and crepe flowers!! You have given me some ideas to add to my tablescape when I have a tea party in the garden! Hope your heat eases there! It is supposed to get more hot here in the Pacific Northwest, ugh!
ReplyDelete*Jemma...autocorrect at work lol...
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Jemma....if you can't fight the weather...join it and you picked a great way to show off your tablescape and your talent. Love the pink and blue pom poms on your 3 tiered plates. Pretty clever with the white balloons too. I feel you with your high humidity as I lived in Dallas for years and now here I am in SW Florida and more high humidity. LOL It is always fun blog hopping with you.
ReplyDeleteQuite colorful and creative. The tiered tray looks fabulous with the pom poms. Pinks and blues are so calming and pretty. There is always a way to beat the heat. So looking forward to seeing you on 'Making It' xo
ReplyDeleteJemma, you have really thought outside the box and I love it! Such colour and whimsy with the pom poms! The colours are so pretty. And, using the white balloons in the turquoise bottles is genius! The little berry baskets are adorable too! Such a pretty table :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea of using pom pom instead of flowers! I did have issues with things wilting in the sun - so I wish I had thought of some alternative like you did. I love your color palette and adore those little berry baskets! I am getting those sunny vibes from this fun table!!
ReplyDeleteJoyce, I love the idea of using pom~poms. You've become the pom~pom queen. The table is so colorful and fun. This heat has definitely been a challenge for outdoor dining. The balloons are a nice touch, too.
ReplyDeleteI think you must make everything fun, Jemma. This is particularly delightful and I love the colors and feel of it all!
ReplyDeleteStay inside, stay cool! Love the tablescape with the colorful pom poms etc. So happy and festive.
ReplyDeleteJemma, I feel for you in Texas, my hubby is in Austin on business this week. It has been cooler in Alabama yesterday and today, but that will end by tomorrow. You beat the heat by using your creativity for a fun alfresco table. The pink and blue has a wonderful cooling effect. I love the ceramic baskets with blueberries. The pom-poms and balloons set a very festive mood and the parfait sounds delicious. It is always a pleasure to blog hop with you! 💕
ReplyDeleteHow sassy and sweet your table is! The colorful pompoms with the balloons are so creative, and a different take on adding decoration to your table! The colorful margarita glasses are such a fun way to serve up breakfast parfaits! Thank you for once again being a part of another tablescape blog hop, AND all of the collages you create for us! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteHello sweetest friend! You are making me want to eat Al Fresco tonight under my new deck chandelier! Lovely, cool colors and those berries are TEMPTING!!! Enjoy my dear.
ReplyDeleteJemma, I love your poms and balloons...so festive and cheery! Your sweet berry baskets are perfect for serving up treats and and what a bargain too. I love the idea of a parfait for breakfast, especially if it's served up in a pretty margarita glass! It has been cooler here the past few days but the heat and humidity will be cranking back up by the weekend. Fall can't get here quickly enough for me!
ReplyDeleteI love these fun colors, Jemma. Turquoise and Pink is always wonderful. Your table looks fabulous,
ReplyDeleteand balloons do make everything festive. The little ceramic baskets from Michaels are so cute and perfect for a small amount of fruit. And your pom poms are always creative and sweet. It's been a scorcher here as well, with the air conditioner going most of the time, Yikes!
It sounds like you are enjoying your summer days even though it's been hot around your neck of the woods too.
love, ~Sheri
Jemma, your color scheme here is a real winner! I love those little ceramic dishes from Michael's! They really look so pretty with the blueberries in them, sitting on those plates! Balloons - who would've thunk it?! Brilliant! Thanks for sharing this fun table, and that great mix for breakfast parfait. I'm a real fan of those, and like that mix of flavors you put together.
ReplyDeletesuch a pretty color palette! Enjoyed the post very much - a great dose of pretty & happy!

ReplyDeleteVery cute! Those pompon are your signature trademark, I love them as the centerpiece!
ReplyDeleteJemma, Sorry I am late today commenting but I had to leave early this morning for an appointment before you posted and have just gotten settled after being away all day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute table with such pleasant colors. You are so clever to decorate with your trademark craft pompoms. They look so festive and colorful on your three tiered tray. The balloons, hand made flowers, stripe straws, colorful margarita glasses and cute little pink baskets holding fruit all work together to make a happy
and creative table.

ReplyDeleteI love the spin you put on these two classics. I would have never thought to load up a tiered display in poms! Looks like a blast, and I hope you had one. Happy holidays, and enjoy your summer!
ReplyDeleteYour colors are yummy, Jemma! And who knew that small plain white balloons could be so elegant! I think any guests would be willing to brave the Texas heat to sit at such a lovely table. Mornings here are almost always nice enough for breakfast at the garden table that has shade until noon. But I have yet to set a beautiful table for breakfast there. Next time family comes to stay maybe I can pull it off. And then late September should bring cool enough evenings to carry supper out there.
