A Touch of Whimsical for Christmas
December 07, 2012
During the Summer we went to Canton Flea Market and I found
just what I had been looking for a Dr. Pepper soda crate. I was
looking for a new vignette for our family room mantle and this soda
crate is going to be used to help me step out of my comfort zone.
For years I have always created a vignette using my collection of
snowmen on our family room mantel, however this year I am
looking for whimsical.
I also became a fan of burlap this year too, (I was slow jumping on
the burlap bandwagon) so I added some burlap to the mantle. It
softens the vignette, adds interest and texture.
Love, love, bottle brushes-I have had these for several years and I
gave them a touch of whimsical with a little pink spray paint.
I have about 20 vintage Christmas ornaments from the 50's that hung
I our Christmas tree as a child and I really wanted to use them in this
vignette, but they were too large. So I found these smaller
Christmas Ornaments from Hobby Lobby and I think they are
giving me the look that I wanted. I just used a little tape, to hold the
ornaments in place.
I love my new vignette for this Christmas Season!
