Spring Decor Updates For My Home
March 06, 2013
Weather is warming and Spring is drawing near. So I have
been looking for a few ways to bring a little change and some
Spring updates to our home...
I love the way mirrors reflect light and images-this precious clay
gray mirror with two sweet little birds gazing at their reflection
came from my most recent shopping trip to the RED DOOR.
One of my special treasures is this green antique bowl-
it just feels like Spring to me!
I have noticed the use of Galvanized containers being
incorporated into home decor. I personally like their earthy
look and I have been wanting to include them in my own home.
So I have added just a hint of this look. I found this gorgeous
galvanized container with beautiful scroll work that is the
perfect accent for my formal living room.
I am still debating on where to put this precious little dish.
For my Spring flower this year, I have chosen Poppies. I have
red (family room-previous post.) Pink and lavender in Kitchen.
Cream poppies in Formal Living Room.
Spring time sings on my gold Tea Cart.
Simply buy and bake Easter Bunny Cookies-showcased on a
treasured cake plate.
I was ever so pleased when I found this unfinished chalk board
at Hobby Lobby and I had this black cylinder vase. (Which was
just wretched!) So I updated them both for Spring. I painted
them with one coat of gray paint, topped with one coat of white
acrylic metallic paint. I feel as though I have achieved the faux
galvanized look that I was looking for.

THINK SPRING! I love it. We had a half inch of snow today in Georgia. Hugs, sandie
ReplyDeleteWonderful, Jemma! You have inspired me to bring spring into my home, too. Mostly I cut flowers all spring and summer, and the flowers change as the seasons do. I have a tiny vase filled with crocus by the sink, where I see them everyday. In about a week, I'll cut daffodils to bring into the house. I have a few spring-oriented treasures to bring out, as well. Thank you for this lovely reminder. Always a pleasure to come to your blog, Jemma.

Hi Jemma, that bowl is so pretty and the mirror is gorgeous! all together they make a lovely spring vignette. Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment.
ReplyDeleteI love all the spring touches in your house. The poppies are so pretty. It'll be interesting to see where you put that pretty blue dish with the gold trim; I love dishes and little trays like that. I have to rotate decor with mine because I don't have enough space to display them all at once! ;-)
ReplyDeleteJemma, You are adding some wonderful touches to your home for Spring! Love the wreath and this table top vignette is charming. I like the reflection of the oval mirror. I saw a metal vase yesterday with embossed bees on it- I think I will go back to the store and buy it! Even if left empty it would look nice on the mantle or in the living room.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being featured at Share Your Cup :)

Yup Jemma, Spring is springing up all over at your home. Everything is lovely and you know that I adore Poppies! I have them in my bedroom decor. Your green depression glass bowl is a treasure. Thanks for sharing with SYC my friend!
