Gardening Tales
Industrial Chic-DIY Napkin Rings
July 28, 2013
While I garden and water I find myself daydreaming. Sometimes
my daydreaming is of wonderful and mysterious places. Other
times it is wondering what I could do with various left over parts of
gardening equipment. Seems as though I should be able to do
something creative with some of it.
I had been dealing with a leaking hose for some time and was tired
of wasting water. I really didn't want to buy a new hose so I
decided I could repair it with couplings. Repair work went well,
all leaks taken care of. As I was gathering up these leftover
couplings, I couldn't help but notice how cute they were...
I thought the turquoise was especially trendy and fun. And
the silver screws add just the right amount of glitz.
We were having a little get together the following weekend, my mix
of paper plates, silver chargers, and roosters were the perfect blend
to add my napkin rings to.
My marigolds are thriving and have such nice sturdy stems for
cutting.
A little mix of garden fresh marigolds and twine seemed like a great
way to finish up the look.

Oh my gosh Jemma you are nothing short of simply amazing. First my color. And then would would even have thought of doing that? I love the flower and thin rope. Beautiful and country. sandie
ReplyDeleteOkay Jemma..:) you have a natural Martha Stewart, DIY, Designer flare that you need to express more often! These are darling and I don't think I would have thought of using them as a napkin ring. Nicely done! xxleslie
ReplyDeleteAren't you a clever little thing! Looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI love that you 'see' napkin rings when you look at hose fittings. Thanks for sharing this at TTF.

Jemma, these are so ingenious! What a wonderful way to use something that might of been thrown away by a less thoughtful person(ME!). Amazing! Thank you for making us think outside the box.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs,
Patti
