Welcome Fall Entry Vignette
September 15, 2013
Although the weather outside is still a tad bit warm and muggy, I am
in full blown Fall mode. I have decided that if I wait for the weather
to tell me it is Fall, I will have to wait for a very long time and, I am
just am not willing to wait.
And so I shall begin to welcome Fall. I have many ways to
welcome Fall and since I am admittedly a bit of a pack rat, thanks to
age and saving many, many treasures. I no longer have to purchase
any decorations. (Unless of course I feel as though I must!) Just
another great thing about getting older, I have stuff!
All of these marvelous orange pumpkins, golden baubles,
copper whatnot's, burnished leaves, and tattered burlap reside in a
very special box in the attic marked "fall."
I must tell you, that to those around me I appear rather matter of
fact about the business of decorating, but deep inside me...well...I
am smiling-giddy, happy! I have always loved to decorate, ever
since I was just a child.
You see, my parents had an old travel trailer. It was a rather beat up
old vacation vehicle, but it did serve it's purpose. However, I wanted
to spice it up a bit.
So, my Mom let me spend some allowance money on crepe paper. I
suppose by now you are getting the picture...not a great one is it-oh
my...
Well with pink and blue crepe paper, scissors and tape in hand I
began to make curtains. I am sure they were just lovely-wink...
So a tweak here and a tweak there I found myself in the midst of
enjoying decorating. Those childhood days are now just a fond
memory. Once a girl, now a woman who has a passion for creating
spaces that reflect love, joy, happiness and inspiration.
So, please join me in my reflective mindset, welcome Fall, embrace
lost youth, give gratitude where it is do and for certain never ever
take the love of crepe paper lightly!
I am so excited to share with you that I am going to have my first
giveaway!! Yippee-it will be this week and it is a Halloween Wreath!

Jemma! Everything looks so festive and your vignette is lovely:) Great photos! xxL
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely!! I look forward to seeing you at My Dream Canvas. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful decor! Yeah last week temps were in the 80s and 90s here and it was hard to get into the "fall" mood. But this week it's much cooler.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're in full Fall mode!! Love it!

Hi Jemma! Even though it's still in the 90's here, I did begin to bring out the Fall decor. I'll do it slowly and not rush it, though. We do tend to accumulate as the years go by, don't we?
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit and your sweet comments on my rainbow bread. xo
Gorgeous!!! Thanks for getting me in the fall spirit even tho it's 96 degrees here!
ReplyDeleteJemma, you have collected quiet a beautiful assortment of fall decorations...I am like you I love decorating (and like you since I was a child) and have a closet where I keep my different decorations, except for Christmas they are in the attic. It's always fun to go and pull them out and see how I can use them differently this season....
ReplyDeleteI haven't pulled my fall ones out yet but you have gotten me in the spirit....
I sure am looking forward to your giveaway.....
Absolutelly gorgeous Jemma, your Fall vignette is awesome, with such lovely Fall oranges and great elements! Love this decoration! I just became your newest follower, (hope you want to follow back) and thank you so much for your sweet and kind visit. Hugs,

Jemma you do have a flair for decorating - I think you must have learned it as a child. Your table and fall colors are just beautiful. I always love what you do - you need to come to my house.
ReplyDeleteI love all your golds, and oranges, bronzes and browns. Fall must be beautiful at your house!
ReplyDeleteJemma, I relate to you and your love for decorating which can be traced back to childhood. I don't recall any crepe paper curtains, but I'm sure I had comparable "good ideas" for prettying up the house.
ReplyDeletePlease visit me at my blog to see the fall mantel I decorated with things I already had. I love color as well!
Oh wow, all of your vignettes are simply stunning. I love how you mix the pumpkins with other accessories to create such a lovely display. Thanks so much for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteLove the mixture of the natural burlap and things from nature, mixed with the metallic and burnished things. It makes for a very stunning arrangement.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall...
Balisha
What a pretty display ... such nice golden fall colours :) I also loved the post of your trip to Colorado ... gorgeous scenery and wonderful descriptions. I'm now following your blog. Thank you for your kind comments on my last post. Wendy x
ReplyDeleteJemma you are making us giggle! We can't even imagine our mom letting us loose with crepe paper in her trailer ~ lol!! Love the story though...it would compare to us using kleenex and tape for our Barbie clothes ~ ha!! Anyway, everything looks so lovely! Now that we've got the store changed over to Halloween and Fall Karrie and I were just saying yesterday how we needed to get our stuff down for our own homes and get decorating....maybe....next week ~ lol!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy you fall-licious week!!
I love your style, Jemma! And that white sideboard is to die for! Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comment on my round mirror.

Jemma,
ReplyDeleteI love to decorate too, and looking at all your Fall décor, it has given me inspiration to start decorating my own home. What am I waiting for, right? I'm so glad to see the traditional orange Fall colors here. Your pumpkins are pretty, and I really like what you did on your white table. Let me know when you have the giveaway, and I'll be sure to enter.
Love,
~Sheri
Hi Jemma, you are right about getting older and having "stuff,". At my age I have way too much stuff but I love every piece. Guess you can tell I love to decorate too. Very nice display for Fall.
ReplyDeleteVery cute. I love the pop of white thrown in. Even though it's fall I still like to see a little white come out. Thanks for sharing! Stop by my Friday's Five Features and link up this post (and others)! diy-vintage-chic.blogspot.com/2013/09/fridays-five-features-no-9.html
ReplyDeleteGreat colorful pictures! Everything looks so pretty and ready for fall!!
ReplyDeleteJemma, I love your gorgeous fall buffet! These are just the colors that speak to me when I think of fall.
ReplyDeleteEven though we don't get the seasons here, I still long for those beautiful colors.
I love it!
Hugs,
Patti
