Inspirational Thursday- Forgiveness
January 23, 2014
I began blogging just over a year ago and my vision for my blog was
Oh the list is very long and it depends on who we are, where we are
and well, there are just many, many variables. Life is pretty much
like that - subjective.
However, we are all human beings in this mix of humanity-together.
It is not by accident that we are, and it does not matter what your
Religious affiliation is- it's a fact we are here, together-now amidst
the hurry scurry of life and the sometimes isolation of the
accelerated pace of our journey.
And since we are, we might as well get along.
Let us remember to also be kind, because it is true we are all dealing
with something and since we are kindred spirits in this beautiful
messy mix of life let us also forgive.
So, live your life to the fullest, follow the golden rule, be kind, mind
your manners, be nice, forgive and live your life with a joyful heart.
You are not the same person you were were a year ago or
yesterday, you are smarter, brighter and more equipped to meet
life's challenges with courage and strength.

Oh Jemma, this is such a beautiful post in more ways than I can say. First of all, your pictures of nature are so pretty, as I appreciate the peace that nature brings. To forgive is such a hard thing to do sometimes, but it is so important, and in the end, we lose the bad feelings that were harming us. These candles are very mysterious and lovely.
ReplyDeleteI loved your pictures today, Jemma, and especially what you said about kindred spirits in this beautiful messy mix of life.

This is a post that could bear repeating often. Your photographs with their words of wisdom illustrate so well your words of encouragement. We only hurt ourselves if we don't forgive but sometimes it'a a process to work through not a one time event....
ReplyDeleteWise words. It is so easy to be kind, often a smile can dramatically lift someones day, and it only takes a second. Forgiveness is something everyone should do for themselves, it frees them of whatever burden or hatred they are harboring. Wise words. Thanks for sharing.

I think you must have GREAT strength to be able to forgive others. You are so right. sandie
ReplyDeleteI guess this is one of the hardest things for we humans to do. Most of the time those we need to forgive don't ever apologize....we have to be forgiving of bad behavior even when it continues. We've had a week of it so this is a good reminder my friend! Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteDear Jemma,
ReplyDeleteYou possess such an intrinsic sense of kindness. Perhaps that is why your very wise words today, along with the famous quotes on forgiveness, in themselves, are an inspiration to your readers. Many of us, myself included, sometimes struggle with this highly charged exchange of feelings between people, which at times, can be made to be complicated, when it should really be quite simple.
Beautiful images, captivating words, both joyous and UPLIFTING.

You're such an inspiration Jemma!! I agree wholeheartedly with what you've said about kindness - it is so underrated.
ReplyDeleteThat was beautiful. Letting go of resentment and letting oneself fill up with gratitude/appreciation/tolerance is such a good aspiration!
ReplyDeleteYes, Jemma, I've seen the damage of unforgiveness. It can damage a family forever. Thank you for these inspiring words we all need as a reminder - to forgive, or we will suffer more than the one forgiven. Lovely post!

Jemma, a beautiful post, we all need to practice forgiveness more often...it's a easier to say, then to do kind of thing that has such great repercussions.

Jemma, your words are so true. To me, forgiveness is the key to all relationships; marriage, parenting, friends, family. Without forgiveness none of them work. I love what the Bible says about forgiveness: "Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." I believe when we forgive, we're far more blessed than the person we forgive. Thanks for great inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI have always found you to be a kind and uplifting person. Thank you for your words of wisdom!
ReplyDeleteAn often-needed reminder to us all Jemma. When we don't forgive, the anger and resentment inside just continues to build. A simple release of all of that is to say "I'm sorry". Two words that have the power to change a relationship for the better. Thank you for this uplifting post ... you are such a caring person. Wendy xox
ReplyDeleteA VERY sweet post !!! And a good reminder as we all can have hard feelings sometimes about things that we just need to drop...they can be a burden! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post. Wishing you a lovely week:)
ReplyDeleteJemma, what a sweet post and wise words. Thank you for sharing, enjoy your week ahead!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post, Jemma. If we look closely at Scripture, forgiveness is not an option for the Christian. Jesus said if we don't forgive others, then our sins will not be forgiven. That's a pretty big incentive to forgive, but it can still be challenging.
ReplyDeleteWe tend to think that forgiveness, kindness, and love are difficult, when in reality the opposite of these is what is most straining and heavy on our souls and consequently on our bodies. Oh, if the world would value such treasures. Many years ago, under a time of great testing, I learned that forgiveness is not a feeling, it is a choice. The reason most people do not forgive is because they are waiting to FEEL right before CHOOSING it. It will never happen in that order. We CHOOSE first, then comes the healing.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, friend.
Much love.
