Four Easy Ways To Add Orange To Your Home
September 14, 2015
I found some photos of our previous home, it was good to visit her again.
We had just completed some of our remodel back in 2013, and I was beginning to decorate for Fall. As you will see I was crazy over adding more of the traditional colors associated with the season. Our gray walls, white trim and rich hardwood floors were a perfect canvas for seasoning our home with Orange.
Orange can also be referred to as tangerine, nectarine, bittersweet, titan.
Maybe even ocherous.
But at the end of the day, I suppose it is still orange.
If you are a fan of orange here are Four easy ways to add orange to your home for this most lovely time of the year.
Tip One-
Add orange pumpkins, with so many varieties and colors to choose from now, it seems like
orange is at the bottom of the list. Orange pumpkins add just a nice pop of color.
Tip Two-
Toss in a few burnt orange pillows-a more subdued tone on the sofa adds charm and not
overpowering color.
Tip Three-
Add Pip Berries to a grapevine wreath, centerpiece, napkin ring or candle ring.
I added a few orange and white pip berries to this rustic twig tree.
Tip Four-
Incorporate Art that has an orange theme.
I am crazy for orange, it is true.
For me orange exudes, warmth, welcoming, comfort, coziness and a true symbol that Summer has given way to wonderful, colorful, vibrant, glorious Fall.
I loved sharing my "old," home with you today, it was good for me to see her again.

Wow! That view of your 'old' home, is amazing.... Not having been reading here for long, I don't really know the story, of why you left it.
ReplyDeleteThat living room had the perfect coloring, for adding any/all holiday decorations. A lovely, simple back ground... Just waiting for pops of color.
I am afraid my home does not make a canvas, for orange decorations. :-( But I still put a wee bit in, especially at Halloween time.

Tessa,
DeleteWe left our "old" home for a one story on two acres. My husband will be retiring in a few years and is looking forward to the space.
We will be keeping with the gray and white color pallette in our new home as well, however our gray hues will be gentler and lighter in tone.
Orange can be very overpowering, I suppose that is one of the reasons that so many of us prefer the white pumpkins that are all around this time of year.
Beautiful room and arrangements! :)
ReplyDeleteWell Deb, thank you, today I am really missing that room!
DeleteIt is a very pretty room and you had it looking festive!
ReplyDeleteJanet,
DeleteThank you, it was a fun home to have!
Gorgeous room, love the way you incorporated a tough color with such flair!
ReplyDeleteChristine,
DeleteThanks so much, I think all of those Southern exposure windows gave the room super quality light.
It was a neat house to decorate:)
Beautifully done! I don't ever remember seeing this part of your home before. I just started my fall deco and brought in some harvest colors and a tad bit of orange.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Jemma. I must admit that I am not a fan of orange, but you did such a wonderful job with it. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteYour old home was so pretty..I can't wait to see the new one in all her glory. :)
ReplyDeleteJemma, your home was so beautiful! Those pops of orange color just really set off and complimented all of the other colors in the room! Orange is such a vibrant, happy color! Hugs!!
ReplyDeleteYour old home is gorgeous! How did you leave those windows!? I do love orange in the Fall. Haven't started decorating yet....still thinking about what I want to do...
ReplyDeleteI love that dark vibrant orange - man it was so beautiful - the perfect accent. Andy thinks we should paint the walls orange! Lol
ReplyDeleteYour old home was lovely, and while I'm sure you're missing it right about now (btdt) your new home will be even better!
ReplyDeleteI love orange too, but you're right...it's best used judiciously.

So glad to see a peek of your previous home---you are a wonderful decorator! The colors are so pretty and yes, you've given me a different view of orange (and all it's counterparts!). Thumbs up and a great post!

Hi Jemma, love your pop or orange in your lovely past home. It really looks gorgeous and so inviting for fall.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and the wonderful inspiration. Blessings and Joy my friend.

Beautiful Jemma. I love the touches of orange. Everything pops. I know your new home will be gorgeous. xo
ReplyDeleteYour living room is (was) gorgeous Jemma! The poppy painting looks beautiful on the mantle and ties all the orange accents together so beautifully! There are certain shades of orange that I love to decorate for fall in but I also adore the white pumpkins! Just imagine how much you will love decorating your new home! I, for one cant wait to see what you do.

So beautiful and I love the poppies on the fireplace!! I can't wait to see how you decorate the new place for the tour!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful Jemma, and the orange...I'm smitten simply smitten. It's such a warm inviting color and perfect for this season. I've always wanted to paint one of our feature walls in our old condo a series of seasonal colors but never quite got around to it...
ReplyDeleteLove the greys and whites too!
Jen
Hello Jemma. Love your pops of orange. How beautiful. That poppy painting is the best! To me, orange is perfect for fall. Susan
ReplyDeleteYour old home was gorgeous, and I know your new one will be as well. I am not a lover of orange, but girl; you do it so well! I do love it for Fall and Halloween, but don't have a lot of it in my home on a regular basis. I display red/orange poppies in my bedroom for part of the summer. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
