Homemaking
Classic Christmas Home Tour
December 23, 2021
Please join me for our classic Christmas Home Tour, a mixture of traditional and French farmhouse making our home to feel cozy, welcoming, festive and bright!
Welcome! Welcome! I am so happy you have popped by to take our Christmas Home Tour this year!
I am thrilled to be sharing our holiday home.
Welcome To Our Classic Christmas Home Tour
If you are new around here, I am Jemma (Joyce Emma.)
We moved into our French Farmhouse Style home in Mississippi in May of 2021.
Prior to that we built our French Country home in Texas, remodeled our Mountain home in Colorado and dressed up our Florida home.
I guess you could say we either enjoy moving or we enjoying tinkering with homes!
Classic Christmas Foyer
For many years I have longed to place a Christmas Tree in the Foyer of our home.
In our previous homes the Foyers did not have the space.
In our current style of home we do have the space and also double doors.
I love the light and the way our Tree glows and reflects in the glass of the doors.
Our Classic Christmas Living Room
This year we created a festive and cohesive glow by putting up two flocked Christmas Trees.
With the style of our home being an open floor plan it seemed best to keep the flow and glow the same.
I honestly miss my green Christmas Tree though...but her lights went out at the end of the season last year.
With a little luck and some good blessings we will have a real live Christmas Tree in our home next year.
Amaryllis
Growing indoor plants during the Winter months create a warm and natural environment.
I planted my Amaryllis bulb a week or so before Thanksgiving and just look!
She bloomed just in time for Christmas.
I am so happy and proud of her.
The Importance of Homemaking
I love homemaking, I really do.
In my heart of hearts it is a gift that I give to those I love and a form of self-care too.
I like a place for everything and everything in it's place.
Other wise I get crazy!
I think being an homemaker is an incredible blessing and also an artistic expression to turn a house into a home.
There is just something special about adding loving touches to the place we dwell.
Pompom Garland and Evergreen Boughs
This year I combined some handmade pompoms with evergreen boughs, pinecones and poinsettias for our rustic pine mantel.
Classic Christmas Kitchen
For me Homemaking begins in the Kitchen.
Truly the Kitchen is the heart of the Home and I love spending time in my Kitchen.
Cooking is a source of joy for me while at the same therapeutic.
Dozens of cookies and other sweet confections have been made and gifted.
I have churned out Crafts that I have shared here with you and on Pinterest TV.
I have fallen in love with making soy candles and I hope to share more of those in 2022.
Some how we ended up with two of our three guest rooms being assigned names.
Perhaps it all came about when I painted my antique secretary desk blue.
I do think that this concept has grown on me!
I find that labeling is a useful tool in organizing the home and even styling a room.
Classic Christmas Pink Bedroom
Our pink bedroom has become a favorite with Dave's sisters and Rebecca.
Both Debbie and Vicki scramble to get this room when they pop in for a visit.
This bedroom faces the South and gets the sweetest amount of sunshine which makes the colors of the bedspread and velvet pillows all the more cozy too!

Thank you for joining me today.
Both Dave and I and our family wish you a very Merry and Blessed Christmas!
Beautiful Jemma. Hope your Christmas was glorious. Now on to hopefully a better new year. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteDear, dear Jemma, good morning!! Happy day after Christmas! Well, you have done it again. You have not only shared how talented you and your husband are in envisioning, designing and building a house but how great you are at making a HOME. In addition to that, what is impressive is how you are able to say, "It's time to move on." I know you fall in love wherever you land but what a gift it is to be flexible enough to go when called. Oh you make every space you occupy so much better than when you found it. Blessings to you in the new year my sistah!
